AEG has introduced a new series of induction cooktops aimed at the premium kitchen market in Australia, combining high-end design with advanced cooking performance.
The new line-up draws on more than 135 years of engineering heritage and features design elements influenced by Berlin’s modern aesthetic. According to the company, the cooktops are designed to deliver both strong visual appeal and flexible cooking performance for home kitchens.
Two of the models feature AEG’s SaphirMatt surface, a matte black ceramic glass finish developed to offer a sleek, non-reflective look while improving durability. The finish is designed to resist scratches, fingerprints and stains while maintaining a refined appearance.

Alongside the updated materials, the new cooktops incorporate several technologies intended to make cooking more adaptable. DoubleBridge and FlexiBridge systems allow users to combine multiple cooking zones into larger surfaces, making it easier to cook with oversized cookware such as planchas, fish kettles or large pots.
The cooktops also include Hob2Hood connectivity, which automatically adjusts compatible rangehood settings based on cooking activity. This allows ventilation to increase or decrease automatically without requiring manual adjustments.
Matthew Jaber, Category Manager – Taste at Electrolux ANZ, said the new cooktop range was designed to bring together design, connectivity and performance.

He said the goal was to transform the kitchen into a more intelligent and visually refined environment while supporting a wide range of cooking techniques.
The AEG 8000 Series Induction Cooktops range includes several models designed to suit different kitchen layouts. These include the NIH85H50FB 80 cm five-zone induction cooktop with Wi-Fi connectivity and a wireless food probe, the NIH85M30FB 80 cm five-zone induction cooktop with Wi-Fi, the NIK95I30FZ 90 cm five-zone induction cooktop with a SaphirMatt surface, and the NII64F30FZ 60 cm four-zone induction cooktop with Sense Boil and Fry technology and a SaphirMatt finish.
Depending on the model, the cooktops offer a range of additional features. These include PowerSlide, which divides the cooktop into three pre-set temperature zones that allow users to shift cookware between searing, simmering and warming levels. Heat Memory technology stores the current heat setting for up to 120 seconds if a pot is lifted from the surface, allowing cooking to resume without needing to reset the power level.

All models in the range include PowerBoost, which provides an instant surge of heat capable of boiling water in under 90 seconds. The cooktops also support wireless hood control through Hob2Hood, helping to maintain air quality in the kitchen while cooking.
The new induction cooktop series forms part of AEG’s broader push to expand its premium kitchen appliance portfolio in Australia, combining contemporary design with advanced cooking technology intended to support modern home kitchens.
