SMEG has broadened its wine storage portfolio with the introduction of a new collection of under-bench wine coolers designed to bridge the gap between its compact built-in models and larger column-style units. The latest additions provide storage for up to 38 bottles, offering a middle-ground solution for wine enthusiasts seeking greater capacity without dedicating space to a full-height appliance.
The new line-up consists of three models. Buyers can choose from two versions in SMEG’s Classic aesthetic, finished in stainless steel and available with either left-hand or right-hand door configurations. A third option joins the range under the company’s Linea collection, finished in Matte Neptune Grey with a right-hand opening design.

While SMEG is widely recognised for its colourful small appliances, the latest wine coolers take a more understated approach. The designs are intended to complement the brand’s premium kitchen collections, blending seamlessly with contemporary cabinetry and built-in appliances.
Each model shares the same core feature set. Interior LED lighting provides clear visibility of stored bottles, while UV-resistant glass helps protect wine from harmful sunlight exposure. To maintain air quality within the cabinet, the coolers incorporate an activated charcoal filtration system.
SMEG has also equipped the range with a low-vibration compressor, a feature aimed at reducing disturbance to wine during long-term storage. Excessive vibration can affect the ageing process of wine, making stable storage conditions particularly important for collectors.
The interior has been designed to accommodate bottles of varying shapes and sizes. Telescopic sliding rails allow shelves to extend smoothly for easier access, while the storage layout combines three removable wooden shelves with two fixed shelves.
Temperature management is handled through an integrated touch control panel, allowing users to independently adjust two separate cooling zones. The system supports temperatures ranging from 5°C to 20°C, making it suitable for storing both red and white wines under optimal conditions.
The new SMEG under-bench wine coolers are available now through Australian retailers, including e&s, priced at $6,490.
